Getting Rid of Yeast Infection
By Sarah Lowe
Vaginal yeast infection is an overgrowth in the body's natural bacteria called candida albicans. The symptoms of vaginal yeast infections are white discharge coming from the vagina, itching, burning, swelling of the vulva, bad odor, pain when urinating or during sexual intercourse (which is not recommended as it can be transmitted to your partner) but while some women get all the symptoms others get just a few. With over 75% of all women getting vaginal yeast infection at some point in their lives and about 50% of them having them repeatedly I think its time for these women to learn how to prevent yeast infection and be rid of it for rest of their lives.
There are quite a few solutions for yeast infections available. First of all it can be treated medically. Your doctor can prescribe antibiotics for you but not everybody is comfortable with taking medication. There are also over-the-counter creams available which are applied to the infected area. However none of these treatments will prevent yeast infection, they are merely used to keep it down.
Some women have gotten the trick of how to prevent yeast infection with some changes in their lifestyle. Like some basic hygiene rules, never wash your vaginal area with scented soaps or perfumes and avoiding douches. Also it is important to avoid sharing washcloths and towels with others. After showering make sure the vaginal area is completely dry before covering it up with clothes.
Many women have also found changes in their diets necessary to keep the yeast infection away. Diets containing fruit, vegetables, proteins and reduced intake of sugars, processed food and alcohol.
If you would like to get rid of yeast infection permanently, I suggest you take a look here, Yeast Infection Treatment and treat your infection naturally.
